The Munnabhai sequel is out and this time again (like Munna Bhai MBBS) to win the hearts of the classes and masses.

Munna and Circuit try to recreate magic in their bid to attract the audiences once again. Boman as Lakhbir Singh aka Lucky is an irresistible nuisance while beautiful Vidya mesmerises with her heavenly smiles and gestures as a radio jockey.

The flick is on the expected lines but what takes the moviegoers by surprise is the core of the movie — highlighting the essence of Gandhism.

The story is woven around (Sanjay Dutt) Munna who is an underworld goon with his quintessential henchman (Arshad Warsi) Circuit. Like in Munnabhai Part I, Circuit is always ready to follow the dictums of his boss, Munnabhai without flinching for a whit.

Munna’s love interest in Jhanvi, played by Vidya Balan, adds a romantic touch to the quintessential comedy.

But things take a grave twist when Lucky (Boman Irani) gets the family mansion of Jhanvi evacuated by Munna’s henchmen in his absence. But by this time Munna has already taken Mahatma to his heart which brings an interesting note.

As Munna, Sanjay Dutt gives a stunning performance and has beaten his performance in Munnabhai MBBS. The same goes for Warsi who is also miles ahead of the Circuit of the earlier movie.

Boman Irani who left an indelible mark as a surgeon in the first Munnabhai charms the audience with his new character as a greedy businessman.

If the characters in their roles and execution are fabulous, so are the other elements such as Shantanu Moitra’s music that has a soothing and healing effect on the ears.

The colourful filming and the cinematography give the movie an edge over others. The dialogues too complement the characters and give the movie its soul.

Director Raj Kumar Hirani has once again proved his mettle with the sequel. He presents a humorous and enlightening bouquet full of drama, emotions, earthly simplicity, romance, real life portrayals.

Hirani along with producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra highlights the role of the movies in enlightening the masses. The duo has not only been successful in providing a complete entertainer but also incorporated the humble teachings of Mahatma in the most palatable manners.

The six elderly people, highlighting the plight of the old aged persons, are affable. Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Parikshit Sahni and Saurabh Shukla too did their bid in an appropriate manner.

The actor who walks away with the maximum kudos is onscreen-Parineeta, Vidya Balan. Her vibrance strikes the right chord in the popular number ‘Pal Pal Har Pal’. She’s certainly the face to watch out for in the tinsel town.
