PUNE, Aug 1: Congress leader Ramkrishna More today welcomed Chief Minister Narayan Rane’s decision to probe the serious allegations made by former Chief Minister S B Chavan against Sharad Pawar and demanded that Pawar should file a case against Chavan immediately to clear confusion among the people.

Talking to media persons, More said Pawar should stop making statements and file the case if his side was true. More admitted that the Chavan-Pawar dispute was helping the saffron alliance to a certain extent but refuted Pawar’s charge that the Congress and the alliance were acting together on the issue. More went on to say that Rane had taken the right decision since it was his duty to look into serious allegations against senior political leaders. Asked why Chavan maintained silence for a long period on the serious issue, More said the court would take cognizance of it and would take appropriate decision if Chavan was found guilty.

To another question as what would be party’s stand if Pawar did not file the case, More replied that he would then request Chavan to release the evidence against Pawar.

It may be recalled that Chavan had alleged recently that Pawar had engineered communal riots in Aurangabad and Pune. Pawar had then countered that he would file a suit against Chavan.
