
CHANDIGARH, June 17: With monsoon showers bringing relief to City residents, the prices of summer vegetables have done their bit to keep the spirits up.
However, some vegetables continue to be hot8217; 8211; like green chillies, tomatoes and coriander.The prices of summer vegetables like gourd and pumpkin are down to a low of Rs 2 to Rs 3 per kg in the wholesale market. Bitter gourd is down to Rs 4 per kg in the wholesale market. Ladyfinger is available at Rs 7 per kg in the wholesale market and at Rs 10 per kg in the retail market.
Prices of potato and onions are not so kind on the common man8217;s purse. Both are available at Rs 7 to Rs 8 per kg in the wholesale market. In the retail market the prices of these two commodities are touching even Rs 16.
Tomatoes are available at a high of Rs 14 per kg in the wholesale market. In the retail market, the prices are Rs 20 per kg. Chillies in the wholesale market is being priced at Rs 18 per kg. Coriander perhaps tops the chart of expensive vegetables 8211; priced at Rs 30 per kg in the wholesale market. Prices of lemons are down to Rs 16 per kg in the wholesale market.
