Actor Vijay Raaz, known for his role in Meera Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, has been detained by Dubai police.

Director Vikram Bhatt, who had accompanied Raaz abroad, told PTI from Dubai that the actor was detained at the airport on February 13, the day he landed there.

‘‘He has been incommunicado since then and we have no knowledge on why he was detained,’’ Bhatt said. Raaz had arrived in Dubai for the shooting of Bhatt’s film Deewane hue paagal, the director said.

Bhatt said that his film unit was in Dubai for the last six days and Raaz was to have joined them on the day he was detained. —PTI
