Abu Salem has told interrogators that Bollywood actress Monica Bedi was his second wife and he had divorced his first wife before marrying her, O P Chatwal, DIG of the CBI told reporters here. Salem had eloped with a 17-year-old girl, Sameera Jumani, his neighbour in Mumbai, in December 1991. The girl returned some days later and Salem was arrested and released on bail. The two had married when the girl attained adulthood.

According to CBI officials, they have not got possession of any documents of Salem’s marriage with Bedi. Bedi is currentluy lodged in a jail in Hyderabad.
