MUMBAI, June 16: Derek Fatchett, British Minister of state for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs took time off from his busy schedule to visit the Elf-Vengsarkar Cricket Academy EVCA, Oval, on Sunday.
He was accompanied by Michael Bates, Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom in Mumbai. Fatchett, who played in the Yorkshire League, was present at the DBVA for half an hour.
He joked that even the French have started taking the English game of cricket seriously when he learnt that the academy is sponsored by Elf.
Dilip Vengsarkar presented the Minister with a bat autographed by himself.
