Militants kidnap two in Assam

GUWAHATI, March 10: A tea garden manager and his driver were kidnapped by militants in south Assam8217;s Cachar district on Wednesday, official sources said here.

The Lakhipur tea garden manager, R K Trivedi, and his driver were abducted in the evening near the tea estate along with the factory manager, Shyma Kumar Shyam. But Shyam was later released by the militants.

The sources said that Trivedi and his driver were taken away towards the Manipur side. A massive manhunt has been launched to trace them by the police, the sources said.
