BANGALORE, JULY 19: The Karnataka unit of the MGR Anna DMK has decided to contest two Lok Sabha and five Assembly seats in the coming elections in the State.
The party’s State unit secretary, B Muniyappa, MLA stated in a press release here that the party had decided to field candidates in Bangalore South and Shimoga Lok Sabha constituencies and in the Assembly constituencies of Gandhinagar, Chikpet, Bharatinagar, KGF and Shimoga.
He said the party decided to contest these seats after eliciting views of partymen in these constituencies.
Muniyappa said that in the light of Congress forging a poll pact with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, his party would have consultations with non-Congress parties on forging electoral understanding in the State.
Muniyappa won the Gandhinagar Assembly seat on AIADMK ticket and later switched over to MGR Anna DMK.
