PUNE, Sept 23: Heavy down pour on Thursday evening must have been relief for many, but it was not so for the organisers of the Fr Barco Memorial Football Inter-School tournament St Vincent8217;s High School as one tie was washed out while another abandoned half way at the St Vincent8217;s School ground.
With just three league matches left in the under-16 age group, the organisers will now have to use the rest days Saturday and Sunday to accommodate these matches.
Bishops who were leading 2-1 against Vincent8217;s B8217; at the interval did not take to the ground thereafter due to rains. The last match between Ornellas and Loyola High School also followed the suit.
The above matches have been rescheduled for Saturday while the last match of the league between Ornellas and Vincent8217;s B8217; has been chalked out for Sunday at 10 a.m.
Earlier in the completed match, Vincent8217;s A8217; prevailed over Vidya Bhavan 1-0 to top the pool A8217;. The match winner was scored by Nolan Jaijasilim in the 17th minutes.
