Man attempts to rape minor, flees

CHANDIGARH, FEB 28: A colony number 5 resident allegedly attempted to rape an 11-year-old girl of the colony here but managed to run away as people gathered outside the place where the incident took place.

Quoting the First Information Report, police sources said the Colony 5 resident, Billu, runs a television shop in the neighbourhood where the girl resides. Only the girl and her sister were present at their house when the incident took place. Billu sent the girl8217;s sister out and bolted the door from inside. He allegedly tried to rape the girl but her mother came and knocked at the door. Other residents also gathered outside the house. The police have registered a case.
