Afghanistan, Mongolia and now it is Malaysia, that is seeking help from the Human Resource Development Ministry.
While the Afghans wanted help to set up primary schools in post-Taliban Kabul and Mongolia requested a science and tech university in Ulan Bator, the Malaysians have come here looking for English teachers.
At a meeting with Malaysian Minister of Education, Tan Sri Musa Bin Mohamad, last evening, HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi worked out the details.
‘‘Malaysia is hoping to source English teachers from us. They will be needed for subjects like mathematics and science. Their government plans to teach through medium in schools,’’ a HRD Ministry official in the concerned Department said.
Apart from the requirement of English teachers, the two Ministers also discussed the modalities of setting up chairs in each other’s universities.
