CHENNAI, June 21: Harish Samtani powered his way to a splendid double in the Esteem class of the second-leg of the JK Tyre Challenge Road Races at the Irungattukottai track, near here. But the happiest man was Arun Murugappan, who claimed his first win in Formula racing, driving in the FISSME Formula India Single Seater Maruti Engine class. Placed fourth in the first race of five laps, Murugappan capitalised on a pile-up of the leading three machines to win the second race. He was running fourth with about a couple of laps to the finish when winner of the first race, J D Madan, Gurunath Meiyappan and Kamlesh Patel, the leaders, got involved in a crash. Murugappan seized his chance to zoom past the finish line.
