KARACHI, NOV 8: A first class magistrate (FCM) was killed last night in an ambush near Tando Allahyar, about 180 km north of the port city in Southern Sindh province. His driver also suffered bullet injuries, police said.

Mohammad Alam Naich was returning to Hyderabad, the second biggest city in the province, after making arrangements for the proposed visit of Sindh chief minister Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi to rural areas of his jurisdiction, officials said.

The killers, according to the police, were hiding near the highway. As the official jeep reached the spot, they came out on the road and fired volleys of bullets on the jeep using automatic weapons. The magistrate suffered serious injuries and died on the way to hospital, doctors said.
