BANGALORE, JANUARY 14: Surely no match in recent times has been more keenly fought. And no match really has seen more heart-burn. In the end, MP could only manage to thrillingly tie a semi-final that they so richly deserved to win.

If left-handed opener Amay Khurasia (79: 79b, 8×4, 1×6) was absolutely dazzling at the top, Santosh Sahu (67 not out: 63b, 8×4) held the lower order together. In between Devendra Bundela (47: 55b, 4×4) stroked the ball with tremendous authority and power.

Karnataka recovered only due to some fine restrictive bowling by off spinner Anand Yalvigi and Mansoor Ali Khan. MP slumped to 209 for six in the 38th over. It was then that Sahu played his hand till MP needed two runs off the last ball. Sanjay Pandey got just one leg bye. The spin of coin decided the winner, and Karnataka skipper Sujith Somasundar called heads, correctly.
