Former Uttar Pradesh Minister of Stamps and Stationery Amar Mani Tripathi, allegedly involved in the Madhumita Shukla murder case, has decided to approach the people’s court for his defence on the issue.

‘‘I will go the people’s court to prove my innocence on the issue,’’ he told his supporters in Lucknow on Tuesday. He will also be holding a public meeting at Nautanwa tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the eight-member CBI team which has been entrusted with the probe into the murder arrived in Lucknow today and took charge of the documents which had been in possession of the CB-CID so far. The documents and details were handed over to the CBI team by CID CO S.K. Singh.

The CBI team is being led by Loknath Behra (DIG).
