
A Metropolitan Court on Monday remanded to two days police custody former MD of the Madhavpura Mercantile Co-operative Bank (MMCB) Devendra Pandya, who had surrendered to the investigating agency on May 13.
CBI claims that Pandya had taken advance of Rs 2 crore as against the limit of Rs 75 lakh permitted, for expansion of a private firm Amrita Marketing Private Ltd , wherein his son, nephe and daughter-in-law were directors. On March 8, 2001, he managed to transfer Rs 1 crore from the loan department to his savings account, the official said.
