Wrong number, all the way
You may be a senior Special Task Force officer and head a branch known for its expertise in electronic surveillance. But it does not mean that you have mastered your mobile phone. And why worry, when you have your subordinates at your service?
The officer in question still needs assistance whenever he has to add a new number to his phonebook or check a text message. And his juniors, have the added responsibility of helping out. But the worst time, of course, is when a case relates to surveillance or call details of cellphones.

With love, from Uttar Pradesh
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Instead of retaliating to the ruckus in Maharashtra caused by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, the state government is out to woo the Marathis. As a token of their love and acceptance for all castes and cultures, including the Marathis, the department of culture have gone ahead and named it8217;s newly-constructed auditorium of the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi as Sant Gatge Ji Maharaj Prekshgrah Auditorium. According to the officials, the auditorium has been named after the saint from Maharashtra to show their love and respect for everyone, including the Marathis.

Give me more, says BJP leader
For long, a senior BJP leader has been annoyed with the party leadership. His conspicuous absence from all party programmes is being largely talked about.nbsp;People close to him reveal the reason behind this annoyance. The veteran leader recommended the name of his protege and long-time associate 8212; a member council 8212; for the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat. The party leadership, however, is unable to digest this demand. In the past, while mending the career of this protege, this dynamic leader sacrificednbsp;power. He has categorically stated that he will not speak in the matter of ticket distribution. But of course, he can show his displeasurenbsp;to the party leadership for not accommodating his one recommendation.

Monkey power in Lucknow
With Maya at the helm of affairs, criminals have stopped striking at will. Just when the administration could have claimed that 8220;jungle raj8221; is over, creatures from the jungle have unleashed a reign of terror in Lucknow. On Friday, an eight-year-old girl took her four-year-old brother in her arms and jumped from the rooftop as over two-dozen monkeys reportedly attacked them. While the boy lost his life, the girl has been in a critical condition. Alarmingly, it is not the first time that the monkeys have created chaos. Reports suggest there have been at least six other instances where people were bitten by monkeys. Recently, some monkeys were in the news when they jumped over a duct in the ICU of Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, injuring an attendant. Cases of simians striking at will were also reported from posh residential colonies like Butler Palace and Dalibagh.
Interestingly, in a newspaper office, monkey menace made news for different reasons. Just as the forest department and the police prefer to play passing the buck over such incidents, crime reporters and those covering forest, LMC and health are confused as to who should report the 8220;event8221;.
