MUMBAI, June 2: Owing to the indifferent attitude of the Centre, more than 17 lakh families living below poverty line in the State will be deprived of the United Front Government’s much publicised scheme to provide foodgrains at concessional rates. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shobhatai Phadanvis today confirmed that out of 77 lakh families, living below poverty line, only 60 lakh families will get the benefit of the Centre’s scheme launched today.

As per the scheme, wheat will be provided at Rs three per kg and rice at Rs four per kg.
