An advertising agency from Pune has pipped big names in Bollywood to prepare the theme song for Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani’s Bharat Uday Yatra. Voices from the city have recorded the song that was officially launched by Advani last week at his rally in Nagpur.
The song is all of 3.45 minutes and has been prepared by Assent Group, a four-year-old ad agency. It eulogises Prime Minister A.B. Vajpayee and his government’s achievements. City-based artistes Vijay Joshi, Suhas Shyamgaonkar and Bhagyashree Kelkar have lent their voices to the lyrics written by Vinayak Raut with music composed by Ashish Keskar.
The opening lines of the song go something like this: ‘‘Vikas ki ugate suraj ki kirane charo or hai, Bharat Uday ki or hai’’. The song’s gist is that India is a growing economic superpower.
Rahul Amritkar, Assent Group CEO, says he is happy that BJP showed faith in a small fledgling company to create the song to showcase Vajpayee’s work in the last four-and-a-half years. ‘‘There was stiff competition, but the BJP leaders had faith in us,’’ he adds.
And who helped them clinch the deal? He admits it was BJP national spokesperson Prakash Javadekar who hails from Pune. It will be played throughout Advani’s Bharat Uday Yatra and during BJP rallies across the country, informs Amritkar.
