CHANDIGARH, Oct 8: Proceedings in the Sector 17 District Courts complex came to a standstill today as the advocates, protesting the alleged illegal detention of a lawyer, observed strike.
Advocate Arunjeev Singh Walia was allegedly assaulted after being reportedly detained by the police officials posted at the Police Station (Central) in S.A.S. Nagar on October 3.
According to president of the District Court Bar Association A.S. Chahal, only sessions trial, bail applications, besides stay matters, were argued by the lawyers today.
