NEW DELHI, JAN 13: The Congress today said that the proposed second National Labour Commission should be constituted only after detailed discussions are held with all political parties and trade unions.Party Spokesperson Girija Vyas said that the issue was raised in the last session of Parliament and that the Commission must have full and clear terms of reference before it is constituted. She added that the rights of workers all over the country must be protected, as they were not being given their due by employers.``Workers should be given protection and also due share of the profits of the industries. The owner-worker relationship has undergone several changes over the years. New industries have been set up and new problems have cropped up since 1969 after the first Labour Commission, which was set up in 1966, submitted its report,'' she said. The Congress stands committed to the welfare of the workers, Vyas said.
