In a match of fluctuating fortunes, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said skipper Anil Kumble brought India back in the game and the hosts now had a very good chance of winning the first cricket Test against Pakistan on an improving pitch.

“Kumble always does well, especially here. He brought us back in the game. We have very good chance of winning now,” Harbhajan said after the third day’s play.

Kumble added to his first innings haul of four wickets with three more scalps on his happy hunting ground to change the complexion of the match.

“It was slow and low yesterday but today the wicket was very good to play and ball was coming on to the bat very well,” the off-spinner added.

“The way partnerships went today it did not feel like the same wicket we played on yesterday,’ Harbhajan said referring to the sixth-wicket partnership between Kamran Akmal and Misbah-Ul Haq.

Harbhajan, who took two wickets in the second innings, said it would be imperative on the home side to grab the opportunities on the penultimate day of the match.

“Our bowlers have bowled very well so far but we need to grab the opportunities tomorrow,” he said.
