PUNE, May 14: Kishor Kale’s all-round excellence went in vain as his side Canara Bank failed to capitalised on his efforts and ended up losing to Pharmika Sports Club by four wickets in the Thursday league of Poona Distric Cricket Association organised cricket tournament.

Kale first scored 77-runs in the teams total of 177 and later went on to claim three wickets for 29. But the other team members could not keep up the tempo set by Kale and allowed the opponents’ to comeback in the match. Pharmika Sports Club, with the help of Ramnath Musudge’s half-century and Ajay Kulkarni’s 36, reached the target for the loss of six wickets.

In another encounter, Ramakant Natu and Vishwanath Kadam anchoured in CAFVD’s four wickets win over Somesh Cricket Club. Ramakant Natu first, single handily restricted Somesh Club to 188, sclaping five wickets for 22. Later Vishwanath Kadam scored 60 supported by Ganesh Garsund (41) and Ravindra Walimbe (34) to take CAFVD to 190 for six wickets.
