Kid8217;s genitals burnt to stop bed wetting

RAJAHMUNDRY, Oct 27: In a macabre incident, the caretakers of a four-year-old girl in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, have branded her genitals with a hot instrument to prevent her from frequent bed wetting during nights.

According to delayed information Mandapeta police said, the girl Chiranjeevi Soundarya, whose parents got divorced recently, was entrusted to her father8217;s relatives Annamdevula Papa Rao and his wife Sesharatnam.

Unable to tolerate the girl8217;s habit of bed wetting the caretakers had resorted to this cruel act, police added.

On a complaint from the neighbours, the couple was arrested and produced before a judicial magistrate at Alamuru, who remanded them to judicial custody. The girl was admitted to the Mandapeta Government Hospital, police added.
