
Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri returned triumphant to the state capital on Sunday after being assured of the party high command8217;s support for his continuance in office. This is the second time in the last three months that the central leadership has quelled a dissidence movement against him by ruling out a change of leadership.
8220;I don8217;t think there was ever a threat to my government,8221; a beaming Khanduri told media persons at a Diwali Milan programme at his residence on Monday. When asked whether the matter regarding dissatisfaction with his leadership had been resolved completely, he said,8221; I think things have been sorted out.8221;
He did not comment on why there were persistent voices of protest against him. 8220;It would not be appropriate to reply to this question. In politics such minor irritants keep on happening,8221;Khanduri told The Indian Express.
