FATEHGARH SAHIB, Dec 6: The Khalsa Chetna March which started from Anandpur Sahib yesterday concluded after reaching here tonight amidst colourful celebrations. Bhai Ranjit Singh, Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, performed the “ardas” at Diwan Todar Mal Hall here, which was attended by thousands of people. Fireworks were also organised on this occasion.

SGPC chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra, while talking to ENS, thanked the people from within the country and abroad for their overwhelming participation in the march. He said that Sikhs should get ready for historical celebrations of Baisakhi in 1999 to make them memorable.

America-based well known Sikh missionary Harbhajan Singh Yogi termed the Chetna March as a historical event and added that it was time to encash the power of Sikhs for the service of mankind. He said that there was no conflict between Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and SGPC chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra. Some people who did not like to see a united Punjab were creating this confusion, he alleged.

Jagir Kaur, the only Punjab Minister who attended the function, said that the Chetna March had made a great impact while adding that comparisons of these kinds of functions should be avoided.
