Key Mumbai blasts suspect Patni arrested

Investigations into the twin blasts in Mumbai took a curious twist on Wednesday morning when key suspect Zahid Yusuf Patane alias Patni presented himself before authorities for questioning. Patane was questioned by Crime Branch sleuths at the police headquarters.

‘‘Patni returned to the country on his own and he is being questioned,’’ confirmed Singh. ‘‘We are trying to ascertain whether he was involved in the blasts.” Patni was said to be close to Sayyed Mohammed Hanif and Naseer Abdul Sayyed Adees, named as prime suspects in the twin blasts.
