CHENNAI, AUG 22: Dravida Munetra Kazhakam’s (DMK) efforts to woo the minorities continued today, with Chief Minister and Party President M Karunanidhi reiterating that reconciliation with minorities was the focus of the alliance as stated in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) manifesto.He was addressing an election meeting at Marina beach in Chennai in which Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee also participated.

Karunanidhi said the focus was on a new broadbased movement for progress and safeguarding interests of minorities adding that those who indulged in false propaganda to break the alliance will be taught a lesson.

The meeting commenced at 8.30 pm and Vajpayee accompanied by Karunanidhi arrived at the dais at 8.45 pm to the cheers of the crowd.
