Karnataka win a mileston for BJP: Modi

Gujarat CM Narandra Modi, who had extensively campaigned for BJP in K'taka, described the victory as a milestone for the party.

Upbeat after BJP’s spectacular performance in the Karnataka Assembly polls, Gujarat Chief Minister Narandra Modi described the victory in the southern state as a milestone for the party.

Modi had extensively campaigned for the Bharatiya Janta Party in Karnataka.

People of Karnataka have chosen BJP for a stable and efficient governance and by placing their trust in the party they have opted for overall development of the state, an official release quoting Modi said.

The tactics of the UPA and Congress have failed to distort the minds of people of Karnataka, the release added.

Modi was also quoted as saying that this was a positive signal for democracy and congratulated the people of Karnataka for selecting son of the soil B S Yeddyurappa as their Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the BJP worker across Gujarat celebrated the victory in Karnatak by bursting crackers and distributing sweets, an official release said.

All the cadres of the party participated in the celebrations and congratulated their counterparts in Karnataka.
