Kapil Dev undergoes cataract surgery

Former India skipper Kapil Dev has undergone cataract surgery in the Capital recently. An avid golfer now, he said that he realised something was amiss when he was failing to spot the golf ball properly.

Former India skipper Kapil Dev has undergone cataract surgery in the Capital recently. An avid golfer now, he said that he realised something was amiss when he was failing to spot the golf ball properly.

8220;Cataract affected my performance while playing golf. A good golfer needs to have good vision. However, after operation and implantation of a lens, I can see my target as clear as I could see a swinging cricket ball,8221; said Kapil.

Kapil was implanted with the ReSTOR lens, a breakthrough advancement in vision surgery. ReSTOR was approved by the FDA in 2005 only and is being used in few hospitals in the city.

8220;I realised something was wrong as I had started missing my shots while playing golf. When it persisted, I saw a doctor, and was diagnosed with cataract. However, having undergone this surgery I can confidently say that my vision is not only spectacle free but has got perfection in my vision too,8221; Kapil said.
