Kanitkar among replacements

NEW DELHI, DEC 30: Delhi off-spinner Nikhil Chopra, Robin Singh Sr and Hrishikesh Kanitkar will replace opener Navjot Singh Sidhu, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Singh Jr in the Indian team for the One-Day series against New Zealand to be played at the end of the Test series.

BCCI secretary J Y Lele told newspersons here today that the three replacements will reach New Zealand on January 4. He said the selection committee members had conveyed their decision about the replacements to the BCCI president on telephone, and also informed the Indian team management in New Zealand.

FEES HIKED: The Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI today substantially hiked the fee of players and umpires for the Test and One Day International matches .

For Test matches, players and umpires will get Rs 15,000 more and for one-dayers Rs 10,000 more.

At present for Test matches, players and umpires get Rs 25,000 each while for One Dayers the present fees were Rs 15,000.
