Kamat keeps key portfolios

Science and Technology. The departments of Urban Development and Fisheries have been allocated to Joaquim Alemao, while Manohar Azgaonkar has been given the charge of Panchayat and Rural Development. Both the ministers have been able to get back the portfolios they had held earlier.

The Chief Minister has given the Power portfolio to Aleixo Sequeira, who also holds the charge of Environment Minister. Vishwajeet Rane, a first-time minister, has been allocated the Health department. He has also been given the charge of Craftsmen Training.

Meanwhile, D8217;Souza today said he would not take any portfolio other than that of Urban Development. Dissatisfied, D8217;Souza called on Dr Wilfred D8217;Souza, NCP chief and threatened to pull out of the Government. The NCP has three members and the group has already expressed resentment over the functioning of the Government. 8220;The NCP has given a 24-hr deadline to the CM to give the Urban Development department to Jose after which we will take a decision whether to continue in the Government,8221; Wilfred told the media.
