Judging Savarkar

8226; There is no doubt that V.D. Savarkar contributed to the freedom struggle in his own way, though it was in opposition to the ways of Gandhiji. He was also a great writer, poet and social reformer. For that he should be duely credited. But there are more questions to be answered. Savarkar was associated with the people who actually carried out the task of killing Gandhiji. In all possibility he could have been aware of the conspiracy to kill Gandhiji. For that at least he doesn8217;t deserve to be placed on the same footing as the Mahatma.
