JMM leader’s son shot after scuffle

Laxman Hembron, son of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Central Committee member Sukhdeo Hembrom, was allegedly shot dead by one Ratan Tiu on Thursday morning. The incident took place in Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum district. Although the police described the 25-year-old’s murder as “non political”, Hembrom alleged that the police did not arrive at the scene of crime even after he approached them. But West Singhbhum SP S.K.Jha said, “Laxman was the owner of a bus. Tiu had boarded his bus to go Chaibasa. After Laxman refused give him a ticket, he entered into a scuffle with him. When Hembrom’s bodyguards intervened and tried to save him he was shot dead.”
