Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on Tuesday said the 39.88 hectares of forest land at Baltal were still in the possession of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and used for providing facilities to pilgrims of the cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas.“The land has not gone anywhere. It is still with the SASB and used for providing facilities to the pilgrims as was the case earlier,” Vohra said.The governor reiterated his appeal to people of Jammu to maintain calm and suggested that the agitators visit the land in question at Baltal alongwith SASB officials to ascertain the facts.“I suggest that the agitators come and visit the place to see that the land is still being used for the Amarnath yatra,” he added.
