The latest issue of Organiser has a cover story on the Amarnath Yatra. Titled, 8220;Amarnath outrage shocks the nation: protests all over the country8221;, the piece says, 8220;The government of Jammu and Kashmir didn8217;t stop at revoking the land allotment. It actually affected status quo ante by taking over the yatra arrangements from the Amarnath Shrine Board and placing them under the tourism ministry. The issue, which is tantamount to literally dismantling the Shrine Board, has somehow been completely ignored by the country.8221; Written by former RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav, the piece observes: 8220;It is a pity that that the chief minister, who got his cabinet8217;s sanction for the land to the Amarnath Shrine Board, is now singing a different tune and arguing that the tourism department is better placed to conduct the yatra than the Board. With this success, the jehadis would step up their campaign for the removal of the Vaishno Devi Board also. There is no dearth of secular jehadis in the media and intelligentsia who would be more than happy to toe this line and insist that a secular government has no business to patronise Hindu boards. The clamour will soon begin, first to remove Governor from the post of Chairman of the Board, and then to gradually dismantle it.8221;

Shameful send off

The editorial in the latest issue is devoted to Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. 8220;Post-Independence India has not produced many real life heroes. Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who passed away on June 27, was undoubtedly one of the greatest soldiers who walked on this holy land before our eyes. He was one of the most celebrated fighter generals modern India has produced. He was an icon not only because of his courage, integrity, patriotism, and strategic mastery but also because he was a fantastic human being,8221; it writes. The editorial then notes, 8220;It is unfortunate that the funeral of this great man also had to become yet another instance of the UPA government8217;s callous indifference, disdain and contempt for all that India holds in esteem. The controversy could have been avoided. But it is not surprising considering that it has at its helm a person who has not grown up in the political milieu and whose reference point is a person of foreign origin and who is alien to the country8217;s national cultural moorings. Though a seasoned politician with impeccable nationalist credentials, the defence minister A.K. Antony also by default got bracketed with this lot for his inexplicable absence at the Field Marshal8217;s funeral. By insulting Sam Manekshaw quoting the rule book 8212; that he did not figure in the warrant of precedence 8212; the UPA has insulted itself and let down India.8221;

CPM8217;s criminal acts

A news item titled, 8220;CPM Raj and Goonda Raj8221; writes about a 8220;planned, cruel attack on a BJP leader8221; in Kerala. 8220;The BJP has taken up issues of CPM involved corruption scams and protested. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha BJYM led by president K Surendran organised mass protests against the CPM government and thereafter a dharna on July 26. A 300-strong Democratic Youth Federation of India DYFI mob consisting of mostly goondas came in a procession to attack the BJYM protestors. The police instead of lathicharging and water-cannoning sic DYFI started charging the BJP-BJYM men. The CPM is more interested in following its favourite programme of murdering RSS-BJP cadres and tasting their blood sic.8221;
