Jeering crowd doesn8217;t 8216;concern8217; Murali

The SL off-spinner said the possible crowd jeering may just prove to be motivating, pushing him to 'take on the challenge'.

.

Sri Lankan off-spinner Muthiah Muralitharan said he is not bothered about the possible crowd jeering during the Test series against Australia and is looking forward to the challenge.

8220;I am used to any situation and will accept the way it comes. Perhaps it may motivate me more to take on the challenge,8221; said Muralitharan before leaving for Adelaide along with the Sri Lankan team.

Former captain Arjuna Ranatunga had earlier suggested that Muralitharan should not travel to Australia keeping in mind the previous sour experiences during the tours Down Under.

Muralitharan, who is just eight wickets away from Australian spin legend Shane Warne8217;s world record of 708 Test scalps, said he was keen to achieve the feat in the Aussie land but was not too anxious about it.

8220;Obviously I would like to do it in Australia. If it doesn8217;t happen, it will happen in due course home series against England. It feeling is the same as in the previous occasions except that the world record is nine wickets away,8221; he said.

Muralitharan briefly held the record in 2004 before Warne overtook the Lankan8217;s tally of 527 scalps.

The offie has played only three Tests in Australia, claiming eight wickets at 63.12.
