Citing a threat to her life and pointing out that last week’s intrusion by a man into her house wasn’t the first “attempted attack” on her, former chief minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa has moved the Madras High Court for a direction to the state government to ensure her ‘Z-plus’ security. Her demands:
• An anti-sabotage squad with sniffer dogs around her residence
• A door-frame metal detector
• Letter bomb detectors
• A bullet-proof vehicle and a spare vehicle with same facilities
• An ambulance to be available at all times with blood matching her blood group, a stretcher and other life-support equipment, such as oxygen and a first-aid box with medicines
• A jammer vehicle, police drivers
• Close-circuit TV
• Walkie-talkie sets and searchlights
• Extension mirror (bed type) to check vehicles coming to her residence
• Routine checks of her own and convoy vehicles
