Jaspal Rana fires world mark

IMPHAL, Feb 18: Ace shooter Jaspal Rana hit top form to shoot a stupendous 591 out of 600 in centre fire pistol event, one point better than the existing world record, in the National Games here today.

Rana8217;s effort was one point better than the existing world record of 590 held by Kuzmin of Korea and it will be recognised as a new record only if the International Shooting Union ratifies it. Normally, performances at international level are considered for ratification and not at the domestic level, 8220;It feels great. The range also is excellent,8221; said a modest Rana after the feat.
