Jain discounts report on demolition move

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 25: Local Member of Parliament Satya Pal Jain today said there was no proposal of the Chandigarh Administration to demolish houses constructed by various people outside the lal dora of UT villages.

Terming news reports about such a proposal as incorrect and without any basis, Jain said in a statement issued here today that such rumours were being spread by certain vested interests who wanted to create panic among villagers. He added that in his talk with the UT Adviser, it was confirmed that there was no such demolition move in the offing.

Jain added that the Administration had already decided to provide water and electricity connections to such houses which were outside the lal dora of UT villages, apart from providing other civic amenities, which was being implemented. Jain, however, appealed to the people for not making any new construction outside the lal dora without the prior permission of the competent authorities.
