The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) would set up a space application centre (SAC) at the Ranchi-based Birla Institute of Technology (BIT). It is a joint venture of ISRO and the state.

SAC would provide accurate information for the management of natural resources. It plans to help the state locate its new capital and envisages creation of three units of telemedicine — one each at Ranchi (Rajendra Medical Hospital), Dumka and Bishunpur in Gumla.

The first unit would be managed by the state-run RMCH and the other two by two NGOs. The three would be linked through a telecom network to make available RMCH doctors’ advice to patients on computers in far flung areas.
