CHANDIGARH, Sept 5: Intermittent rain continued for the second day in the city and its vicinity, lowering the temperature to a comfortable 32.4 degrees celcius.

While several areas were lashed by moderate showers, other areas experienced drizzle or light showers. While showers continued till late evening, the local metereological department recorded 7 mm rain till 5.30 p.m. The temperature also fell by about three degrees since yesterday.

While the southern and northern sectors in the city, Panchkula and S.A.S. Nagar experienced moderate showers, the central sectors received light showers.

Weather officials say that the rain, which was widespread in the region, is the result of intermingling of two weather systems 8212; cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan adjoining Punjab and upper air disturbances over northern Madhaya Pradesh adjoining western Utttar Pradesh.
