NEW DELHI, MAY 3: Om Prakash Chautala’s Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), which supported the Vajpayee Government during the crucial trust vote, today served an ultimatum to the BJP, saying that it would not join any alliance which has ruling Haryana Vikas Party (HVP) of Chief Minister Bansi Lal as a partner.
“There is no question of joining such an alliance which includes HVP,” INLD president Chautala said here.
The party, he said, was yet to take a decision on making seat adjustments or tying up with any other party for the coming Lok Sabha elections.
He said the INLD executive, in its meeting at Rohtak yesterday, authorised him to negotiate with other like-minded parties for seat adjustments for the elections.
HVP, a political rival of INLD in Haryana, is heading a coalition Government with the BJP in the State, while INLD is BJP’s alliance partner at the national level.
Chautala said his party would highlight the issue of the Sutlej-Yamuna link canal, corruption and the deteriorating law and order situation in the State during the polls.
