Dhyan Chand statute to be unveiled
JHANSI: A statue of the hockey wizard, Dhyan Chand would be installed at the local Dhyan Chand stadium here on his birth anniversary on August 29.To mark the birth anniversary of the hockey player, a three-day hockey tournament would be organised under the auspices of the state sports directorate with the final on Saturday.

MARGAO: Vasco scored twice in the second half to stun Goan rivals Dempo 2-0 at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, here today and enter the quarter-finals of the Kalyani Black Label Federation Cup football tournament.

CUTTACK: Calcutta giants East Bengal today humbled Jorba Durga, the local league champions,3-1 in a pre-quarterfinal match of the Kalyani Black Label Federation Cup football championship at the Barabati Stadium here.
East Bengal scored through Dipendu Biswas 7th minute Basudev Mandal 57th minute and substitute striker Raman Vijayan 84th minute.
Jorba Durga striker Suraj Thapa scored the only goal for the Cuttack team in the 82nd minute.
