
PANCHKULA, May 3: Several Bajri plots and other temporary structures were removed on the Nadha Sahib road, here today. The officials said that certain persons had illegally set up stone crushers at the site. The operation, which commenced at 7.30 am, continued for about an hour.
The officials said that the space would now be used for the parking of trucks. The trucks could be seen parked on the roads and other places which was leading to chaos besides proving a traffic hazard. Apart from about 20 labourers, a bulldozer was pressed into service. A large police force was also deployed to prevent any untoward incident. Police sources said that there was no resistance of any sort on the site. However, the jhuggis, inhabitants of whom had obtained stay orders, were not touched, said the officials.
The operations were supervised by City Magistrate M.S. Yadav, HUDA Administrator M. Kithan and DSP S.L. Malik.
