Hyderabad, February 6: India wrapped up the under-19 one-day series 2-1 against England too after eking out a 28-run win in the final one-dayer at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here today. The Indian colts thus clinched a double after the winning Test series 1-0.

In a high-scoring match here, India, helped in by some efficient batting, posted 277/9 in 50 overs. England, who were docked three overs penalty, needed to score in 47 overs. The visitors gave a spirited display before running out of steam. They were all out for 249 in 45.2 overs. Left-arm spinner Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan spelt Englandâ€™s doom with a decisive second spell in which he prized out three wickets, including the dangerous Ian Bell.

When India opted to bat first, skipper Ajay Ratra (45; 39b, 3×4) and tailender Siddarth Trivedi (37 n.o., 19b, 5×4) put the total beyond the reach of England with a whirlwind batting in the slog overs. The two added 49 in 26 balls for the ninth wicket. The last five overs produced 60 runs for India. England dropped some crucial catches too.

Earlier, the openers Gautam Gambhir (81 97b, 8×4), the top scorer, and the streaky Vinayak Mane (24) gave a good start. Last match batting hero Manvinder Bisla was out for for 17.
