HUDA allots 12,000 EWS plots

CHANDIGARH, Nov 22: The Haryana Urban Development Authority HUDA has allotted 12,000 plots to Economically Weaker Section EWS of the society and 7,000 plots to the Housing Board for constructing houses for the EWS.

Town and Country Planning Minister Dhirpal Singh said HUDA had set up industrial estates at Sohna and residential urban estates at Kurukshetra, Karnal, Hisar, Sirsa and Narnaul. The authority had set up 27 urban estates, of which 24 are in small and medium towns.

In addition, one higher secondary school had been provided for 10,000 to 15,000 population and one primary school for every 5,000 population. Of these, every fourth higher secondary school and every fourth primary school had been built by the HUDA. It had allotted about 258.36 acre to various government departments for housing and staff quarters.
