MUMBAI, MARCH 6: Manjit Singh, president of the Hoteliers’ and Bar Owners Association, was injured when four unidentified assailants shot at him outside his bar at Dadar (east) this evening.

Previous enmity seems to be the motive behind the attack. Singh, 51, owner of Karsima Restaurant and Bar was shot at around 6.30 pm after one of the quadruple accosted the watchman and requested him to call the owner outside. They said they had some work with him.

The watchman, Rahim Khan, who is the only eyewitness to the incident, said when Singh stepped outside the bar, three men descended from a car and started firing at him indiscriminately. They then quickly got into the waiting vehicle and escaped along the busy Madhavdas Pasta Road.
