Holy’ man dupes woman

Chandigarh, July 7: Two women and a man reportedly duped a Sector 40 resident of her ornamemts and cash worth Rs 1,885. Police sources said that Rajwanti Bajaj had gone to the Sector 40 post office, when she was approached by a man who enquired about a spiritual leader. She told him that she did not know of any such person.

Soon, they were joined by two women who begina praising the man for his spiritual qualities and his miraculous powers, to impress Rajwanti. The man predicted an evil omen for Rajwanti and said it could be avoided if she acted on his advice. He asked her to give him her ornaments and the cash, which he kept in his bag and then returned it to her, asking her to open it later. She opened it, to find that it only contained waste stuff. The police have registered a case of cheating and conspiracy and are investigating.
