CHANDIGARH, Dec 3: Inculcating a sense of discipline among the sportspersons to compete only in their age groups rather participating in the lower age groups on the basis of false age proof is one of the recommendations of the Advisory Committee formed under the chairmanship of Haryana Olympic Association president Abhey Singh Chautala. The recommendations for framing a new sports policy have been given to the state sports minister Raj Kumar Saini. The committee has also recommended to the Government to allow 50 per cent concessions by Roadways to the teams participating in the recognised state meets.

Other proposals drafted by the HOA are: Adoption of certain disciplines by profit making organisations, revival of College of Sports under CCS Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar, setting up of sports academies, three per cent reservation to outstanding sportspersons in jobs in Government Departments as well as boards and corporations and footing of all expenses of the teams players participating in the national and international competitions.

Besides promoting all games, the committee stresses the need to pay special attention to athletics, basketball, hockey, kabaddi, table tennis, volleyball, wrestling, judo and boxing etc. Meanwhile, the Indian Olympic Association has felicitated Abhey Chautala and M S Malik on their unanimous election as president and secretary general of the HOA.
